Stablecoins are the backbone of any successful onchain ecosystem today, providing a stable unit of exchange for transacting and storing value. Given their importance, moving stablecoins across chains should be fast, simple, and cheap. This is the core mission of Eco - bringing stablecoin liquidity to any app on any connected chain.
With over $120m bridged in May, Eco Portal - Eco’s application powered by the Hyperlane Route - is quickly becoming a popular solution for bridging stablecoins across the Ethereum ecosystem (and soon beyond). Eco Portal makes bridging stablecoins a smooth, one-click experience, and has seen meaningful growth and adoption in recent months.

Eco Routes: Powering The One-Click Stablesend Experience
Eco Routes power the Eco Portal’s smooth bridging experience. When a user wants to bridge stablecoins, they request a transfer and a network of Solvers steps in to fulfill user transfers on-demand. Once the user receives their stablecoins, the Solver then needs to settle the transaction afterwards.
How Solvers settle these transactions depends on the Eco Route in place. The first Eco Routes method in production today is powered by Hyperlane.
Hyperlane Routes
Hyperlane Routes use Hyperlane’s message passing protocol to help Solvers in the Eco network settle their transactions quickly and efficiently.

- A user requests to bridge oUSDT from Base → OP Mainnet by submitting an intent on Eco Portal.
- A Solver sees the request and fulfills by sending the user oUSDT on OP Mainnet - completing the user journey then and there.
- The Solver then uses the Hyperlane Route to submit a proof that they fulfilled the user’s intent. Hyperlane delivers this message to Eco and stores the proof. Solvers can choose to submit this proof individually or as part of a batch settlement that reduces costs by spreading them across multiple Solvers.
- Once the intent has been proved, the Solver is paid and the bridging process is complete.
Hyperlane Routes use the Hyperprover smart contract to verify that intent fulfillment proofs are legitimate and trustworthy. When a Solver submits a proof, HyperProver checks that the message is authentic and marks the intent as proven. Once verified, the Solver can collect their payment. Readers can learn more about Hyperlane Routes in the Eco Docs.
Settle Your Intents (And More) With Hyperlane
Hyperlane Routes allows Solvers on Eco Protocol to move their capital and settle their transactions quickly and efficiently, which allows Eco Portal to continue delivering a smooth, one-click stablecoin bridging experience for users.
But why build with Hyperlane? Take it from the Eco team themselves:
"When we set out to build Eco Routes, we had two major design requirements: that they be permissionless to deploy and extend, and that the intent settlement mechanism be modular and flexible. Hyperlane was and is the only interop solution to fulfill both requirements. And that's really its superpower. Hyperlane is permissionless to deploy; it can go wherever we need to go with Routes, on demand. And its security and relayer logic are also modular and configurable, meaning developers maintain optionality to configure Routes to fit their use case. I think our integration really demonstrates the the power of Hyperlane, and the market can anticipate a lot more from Eco and Hyperlane together. Beyond the tech, they're one of our closest partners, and one of the best teams to work with in the space." - Ryne Saxe, Eco
- Open, Permissionless, Customizable: Anyone can deploy Hyperlane anywhere - on their own terms. Eco developers were able to configure Hyperlane Routes to their specific needs.
- Multi-VM Coverage: With 150 chains and 5 different VMs connected by Hyperlane, teams like Eco can easily scale to a wide range of chains and ecosystems.
- Future-Proof: Hyperlane’s modular design means no vendor lock-in. Eco can upgrade components as needed. For example, Eco plans to add support for allowing fillers to choose and run their own relayer in the future. Or if Eco needs to upgrade security for Hyperlane Routes in the future, they can easily do so with Hyperlane’s modular security.
Fast intent settlement for protocols like Eco is just one example of the many interchain use cases Hyperlane supports.
Whether it’s bridging, multichain asset issuance, governance, or entirely new interchain applications - Hyperlane provides the wide coverage, flexibility, and customization teams need to build and scale to any chain, VM, or ecosystem.
